Dr Burcu Kim is a specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) offering telehealth video consultations to patients across Australia. If you cannot easily travel to Sydney, or simply prefer the convenience of being seen from home or work, an online dermatology appointment gives you specialist assessment and an individualised treatment plan without the waiting rooms and travel.
Conditions suited to a telehealth consult
Many skin, hair and nail concerns can be assessed effectively by video, especially with good-quality photos taken beforehand. Common reasons patients book a telehealth consult include acne and acne scarring, eczema and dermatitis, psoriasis and biologic therapy reviews, rosacea, hair loss and scalp conditions, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and review of an existing condition or treatment plan.
How your online appointment works
Ask your GP for a referral to Dr Burcu Kim so that Medicare rebates apply, then book your telehealth consult online or by phone. Send clear photos of the affected areas before your appointment where requested. You then meet Dr Kim by secure video from your phone or computer, anywhere in Australia, and receive your plan including prescriptions, pathology or referrals as needed.
Referrals and Medicare rebates
Telehealth consultations with a specialist dermatologist attract a Medicare rebate when you have a valid referral from your GP or another specialist. A GP referral is generally valid for 12 months. Ask your GP to address the referral to Dr Burcu Kim, and our team will confirm the fee and expected rebate when you book.
When an in-person visit is recommended
Some concerns, particularly full skin-cancer checks, biopsies and procedural treatments, need to be done in person. Dr Kim consults in person at BMA House, Suite 904, Level 9, 135-137 Macquarie Street, Sydney CBD, and will let you know if an in-clinic visit is the better option for your condition.

Yes. Dr Burcu Kim offers telehealth video consultations to patients across Australia for a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions, with Medicare rebates available when you have a valid GP referral.
To receive a Medicare rebate you need a valid referral from your GP or another specialist. You can still be seen without one, but the consultation would not be eligible for a rebate.
Take clear, well-lit photos of the areas of concern beforehand, have a list of your current medications and previous treatments ready, and join from a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection.
